Leah Johnston
Leah grew up in Tennessee and lived in multiple states after graduating high school. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Psychology from Goucher College in Maryland in 2005. After that she spent time working as a raft guide, teaching Pilates and performing with several small dance companies in San Francisco. She moved to
Oregon in 2011 to attend Pacific University where she received her Doctorate in
Physical Therapy.
Leah initially chose physical therapy as a career because it combined her interests of exercise, medicine, and engaging patients in the healing process. Her career in Physical Therapy has been in the areas of orthopedics, pelvic health, and geriatrics for
9 years before joining the team at Functional Foundations. She is excited to be starting a new chapter in her career with a focus on pediatrics. Leah has always enjoyed working with children and strives to provide care that will increase functional mobility
and improve children’s ability to engage in their community. She is thankful to be part of a supportive team that is helping her continue to improve her skills to best serve the children that come to Functional Foundations for their care.
When not at work you can find Leah hiking, trail running, kayaking, skiing, or on an adventure with her husband, son, and dog.
